A lil Break!

Hello everyone! Sorry I have not blogged in a LONG time! Summer semester was really fast paced and tedious. Thankfully, I finished up on Tuesday with finals and aced my class!!! I never imagined that I could ace chemistry, but with alot of studying, I did it!! It also raised my GPA to a 3.708!! Last thursday, I went to CPCC and took the TEAS test for entrance to Mercy School of Nursing. To be competitive, you need a score of 80. I made a 84! I am sooo very happy, proud and excited. So between my GPA and my TEAS score, I should not have a problem with acceptance - but please keep me in your prayers anyways :) I should hear something from Mercy around September 15th. Meanwhile, I start back up at USC-L on August 19th with a full schedule. I am going to go for my bachelor's degree!

As for the boys, they are mean as ever, full of energy and excited about the upcoming school year. They begin football August 9th - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOON!!!!! -and the first day of school is aug. 13th for Dylan and Aug. 16th for Jesse!! Since Dylan will be in 6th grade, he is unable to play football for the school. Unfortunately, my class schedule is so full, that I wil not be able to let him play county recreation football this year. Thankfully, he will be able to be a manager for Jesse's team, thus allowing me to get out of class and pick them up on my way home!

Jerry is about finished with his tractor- finally!!! But it does not look like the same tractor. I am very proud of him! I will take some pics and post them later. I started work on Dylan's go-kart. Almost done with the painting, will be getting a new engine next week so it should be ready within a weeks time. I think that is all of the Stacks' news for now. I will try to be better about posting more often! I love everyone and think of you all often! XOXO

Wednesday

Good morning everyone! The boys are extremely excited about their vacation from Mom coming up! They are ready to spend some time with papa and g-ma brandy! At 10pm last night, Dylan decided that it was time to pack, so while Jerry and I are trying to sleep, we have Dylan running around gathering his things. Next thing we know, Jesse joins in! I had to tell them that they were not moving in, just visiting...LOL! I also tried to get them to wait until this morning - that didn't work. So they are now packed and ready to go :) No, we have not produced anything from the garden yet, which is about to irritate me :) so I will eat anything you bring Brandy! I cannot believe you were able to grow potatoes - Way to go!!!
I have today and tomorrow off from school because Dr. Hunt has meetings, so I will get to spend some time with the boys before they leave. I am also going to get some cleaning and studying in as well. We have our first exam Tuesday! I also have a presentation to start preparing for and numerous other things, including 2 anatomy lab exams!! I really want to make the dean's list again!!
I better get off here before I write a book and get busy! I love everybody and hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day!!!!!!

Happy Memorial Day!

Hi Everyone! I hope everyone had a great day. Today was my first day back to school, even though it was a holiday...boy this is going to be a LOT of studying - I've been at it for 7 1/2 hours and decided it was time for a break! The 3-16 week classes are packed into 4 week classes, so imagine! The boys are real excited about visiting papaw and g-ma Brandy! Brandy DO NOT let Dylan get away with anything!!!! Give him an inch and he will take a road trip...haha (but I'm serious) Dad-THE BOYS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE!!!!! :) But they are ready, I just hope ya'll are. If you get ready to bring them back early, I completely understand...lol!

We have new additions to the family - kittens. So far 9, but we are not done yet..lol! Anybody need a kitten??? Well I guess that's all the news for today. I love and miss everyone!!! Goodnight! :)

and summer begins........

well, both of my boys passed and move up to the next grades. Jesse goes to the 8th and Dylan goes to the 6th...NO MORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!!!!!!!! Just to let everyone know - I am not happy about this. Proud - YES, happy - no, because this means that my baby is no longer a baby, but turning into a young man :( On a lighter note, Jesse had his academic awards today and received 3!!! 1st - best behavior, no marks at all for the entire year!! YAY! 2nd - student council ( he never ever mentioned that he served on student council - see what I mean about not wanting them to grow up - they forget to share, even when I ask questions!!!!) but way to go Jesse!!!! and 3rd - playing football and keeping outstanding academic grades!!! SO VERY PROUD :) Here are a couple of pics, although you cannot really see them :( The ceremony was due to start at 9:50 and I got there at 9:40 and it had already started, so I sat at the back, near the door. Both of them had excellent grades - A's & B's, so I gave both of them rewards!! I better quite before I write another book...LOL! I have to get up early and take Jerry to the Dr., he has a fasting blood test to check sugar, cholesterol, ect. and then he has an appointment with the ear, nose and throat Dr. so busy day ahead. Also, just a quick note - I start school on Monday, but I learned today that after I finish my pre-req's in the fall, I can attend Mercy School of Nursing and I should be able to start right up instead of waitng 9 months to begin the nursing classes, plus they will pay 80% of tuition and student loans if I agree to work with them afterwards for a year. I am very excited about this because it will have me with a paycheck two years earlier!!!!!!! I am getting all the info, but pray for me that it works out - I really need to get through school as soon as I can :) Good night and I love everyone!!!

5th Grade Graduation

Congratulations to Dylan for graduating from the 5th grade!! The ceremony was held on Monday, but will finish the school year up with two half days on wed. and thurs. The cafeteria was a full house and I had to sit in the back, si I did not get very good pics...sorry :( Now my baby goes to the Middle School...my heart breaks!!!

Patel Wedding Fun!

Saturday was a fun filled day spent with family, as we gathered to celebrate the union of Jason and Stefanie! The ceremony was very heartfelt and beautiful.
Here are my two handsome boys!!Unfortunately, there was a point at the reception when it sprinkled rain a little bit and the cake was taken inside. When the rain stopped, a rainbow appeared, and everything was returned to it's original place...look who's carrying the wedding cake!!!!! JESSE!! I held my breath the entire time and believe me when I tell you, Jesse was shook up about it too and very thankful no misfortune befell upon him; for example, him tripping over his own two feet! LOL! Great job Jesse pooh :) Dylan holding hands with the prettiest flower girl...Molly! She was beautiful and did an excellent job of walking down the aisle. Way to go Molly!!

I found a dress!!

Hi Everybody!! I just want to say that I am wonderfully blessed :) As I was walking to the groceries in Wal-mart today, I passed right by a clearance rack. A little voice told me to look and I started to turn away, but figured why not. As I walked around the rack, I was looking toward the bottom to see if there were any dresses - and right there was THE perfect dress!! I held my breath as I looked at the size and gasped as I saw it was my size. When I looked at the price tag, I knew the Lord had put that dress there just for me! The dress was only $7.00
;-D It is a little plain, but with a few accessories it will be just right.

Dylan had his field day today. He had a lot of fun, but was mad because they lost tug of war: somebody poured water on their side...LOL!!! Although he had all of that physical activity today, the boy is still going strong now and it's going on 11pm...if only I had his energy!!

Jesse got me a little upset today :( I guess it's the teenager in him coming out, but I just put minutes and texting on his phone 3 days ago and he ran out last night. He didn't tell me until I asked him why he didn't text me back today after school. He knew I would be upset. Speaking of trouble - I told ya Dylan had purchased a pair of nice flip-flops , well yesterday evening he comes to me and tells me that the flip-flops broke. I was thinking they were his, NO THEY WERE MY NIKE FLIP-FLOPS!!!!! I could have strangled that child, yet as I write this I am smiling. I love my boys unconditionally and find it hard to stay upset with them longer than 5 minutes.

tuesday 5-18-10

no real news going on here, although we are VERY glad pops made it to WV safely - did you say you rode the scooter???? maybe i read that wrong. been trying to get prepared for cousin Jason Patel's wedding coming up on saturday...still unsure of what I will be wearing - I am getting nervous the closer the time comes. did you know that there are MANY different etiquettes for weddings?? and of course, the wedding is at 5:30pm, so does that make it an afternoon or evening wedding?? Aunt Mary said I worry too much and I agree - I need to calm down, stop worrying about the proper attire and just go and enjoy some family time!! I am excited about seeing everyone. I am taking my camera, so there will be some pics. I love all of you, dad - stay safe. brandy - dont get too bored and scrub the paint off the walls, moon & family - give me a call (haven't heard from you) goodnight all & love ya :-D

MR. HANDSOME

and the new Mr. Handsome is.... JESSE!! Friday night, Buford Middle School held the annual end of the year formal dance. The trend is the 6th dress normally, 7th semi-formal, and 8th go all out and have a jr. high prom. My only problem with this is...all the time and money spent for the event and the total time at the dance is 2 hours. Thank goodness I do not have any girls...hair, makeup, nails, jewelry, heels, undergarments for the dress, and of course, THE DRESS! This year I guess I lucked out with only spending $40-he will be wearing out this outfit with Jason's wedding next week, and the spring sports banquet May 25th, so I will not complain. Next year tho, a tux rental is expected. (and I cannot forget that Dylan will be starting this trend since he will be in the 6th grade)....til then :-D

Tuesday Update

Hi to all! Just want to thank all of you that prayed for Dylan...all the excitement was b/c of a bug bite..maybe a spider. I def told him it was time to cut his nappy head...lol! The doc just breathed a deep sigh of relief when she found the bite, i was so happy i got teary eyed...and just thanked Jesus! He has been a terror all day, but I am blessed :)

Other news, I had checked my grades and found an error on biology and asked my professor about it and she had goofed and is in the process of correcting it, but even with that goof, I made the dean's honor roll list!!!!!!!!!!! I was very proud and surprised.

Jesse is doing good, making great grades too, but loves to stay on the computer or phone. I guess the teenager in him is starting to show. :( He is my sweet, sweet baby and I hate that he is growing into a young man. But I will say that he is a GREAT young man...I could not have wished for any thing different about him. Hope all has a good night! Love Ya!!!

Weekend pics! Happy Mother's day to all Moms!

The weekend went great, except for Jimmy Johnson getting wrecked :( We had a great time with papa and Grandma Brandy! They gave Dylan some money for his b-day and of course I had to take him to wal-mart. He did very good with his money this year; I did not have to tell him no to everything LOL! He got him some new flip-flops that he loves-so maybe he will return all those he has stolen (including yours Brandy)...he also got him some new swimming trunks that fit him good so when he goes to papa's and Brandy's this summer, he will look good at tucker lake. Next, he wanted a new float (that I tried to talk him out of), so he could give Jesse his old, yet still brand new float, then the most expensive item was a John Deere truck and trailer with a tractor and finished off with a kit-kat bar. I have to say that he did A LOT better than usual :-) Today though has been a worrisome day for me. Dyl wakes up and while taking his usual wake up shower starts complaining of a knot that hurts on the back of his head. Within an hour, it had doubled in size, so off to the doctor we go. He had not fallen or bumped his head. The dr. diagnosed him with infected occipital lymph nodes. She does not know why b/c this is an unusual place for occurence so she sent us to the hospital for blood work. She prescibed him a 875mg antibiotic 2x daily and we are to return first thing in the morning. She said that she wanted to rule out anything serious, so of course I had to google...this was not a bright idea! This evening the knot has swollen to about the size of a golf ball and he has a headache. He fell asleep right after supper. I ask that everyone say a prayer for Dylan. I will let ya know how things go, hopefully it will be something silly. Love ya!

Tribute to the 4 time Champion!!

Today has been a good day! I took Mom to town, did some laundry - cannot tell it - getting ready for this weekend. We are very excited and cannot wait to see Dad and Brandy! I am also anticipating watching the man - Jimmy Johnson - take out his competitors, especially the old man Martin, cry-baby Gordon, and the too heavy for aerodynamics Stewart! :-D This is going to be a FANTASTIC weekend! Going to try to get some rest and I'm not letting the boys outta school early. (No matter how much Dylan begs...LOL!) Dad, you and Brandy have a safe trip tomorrow and I'll be looking for you around 3 or 4!! Love everybody!!!

QUICK UPDATE (or I'll try to be quick lol)

Good morning to all! Well I have officially finished my first semester at college and I survived :) I did pass ALL classes, yet I do not have final grades yet except for psychology. Jerry has been having trouble with dizziness and it has had him in the bed, so I finally found a doctor that accepts his insurance and we went yesterday to find out what's causing this. He was diagnosed with vertigo, maybe caused by menieres disease. He had an ekg and blood work done and has to go back for a mri, a full physical and see an ent. He returned to work today and I am hoping his medicine will help him to feel better. Jesse is finishing up soccer, today is his last game. The team lost last night 2-0. Jesse got a penalty because ha turned around, right into the ball and his reflexes made him reach out and grab the ball. he was VERY upset by this, but everyone told him it was not his fault, the reflexes do that. Dylan is mean as ever..haha..very excited about this weekend- as we all are. I still have not ordered his cake (guess I better do that today) I forgot about another bill yesterday and came home from the doctor to no water, had to rush and pay it so it could be back on before they closed. The rabies clinic was held yesterday evening and it was eventful. Dylan rode with me as we made the two trips to tradesville, first with the dogs and then the two cats. Princess was a true pain as always, but the rest did really good (now to get the dog smell out of my car)
I better go find all the bills and see if anything is due today - these reconnection fees are killing me. I hope everyone has a great day and cannot wait to see Brandy and Dad on friday! Love ya'll!!! :)

Happy Birthday Dylan!

Dylan turned 11. My Baby is growing up so fast. For his birthday, we went out to eat at Golden Corral, I baked him a cake, we went fishing and I got him an outfit. We are having his party on Sunday, May 9, (Mother's Day) because he wants his Papa and grandma Brandy there. Family is invited if ya'll can come! My crazy self was so absorbed in studying that I forgot about the bills that were due this week, so my home phone was turned off - I just didnt think anything about it! So don't worry if you can't reach me on that phone, I have a couple minutes on my cell and of course I can be reached by email! Love Ya'll and I hope you have a great day!!

Grade for Biology!

Good Morning! I just found out my grade for my biology final from yesterday! I have triple checked because I am still astounded...I made a 100%!!!! :D Yes I am smiling big! Have a great day and I love Ya'll!

A Day of Sunshine

I have to say that I was happy to see the beautiful sun shining in the bright, blue sky and in my daily life. I am thankful for all my many blessings and for my loved ones. Today was a busy day. It started early, with my psychology final exam at 8:00 am. I felt good when I left there, then I went to study some more while I waited on 11:00 for my biology final. I feel excellent about the nerves exam and nerves insertion, meanwhile I only did okay on the muscles insertion part. I get home and check to see if any of my grades have been posted online and Dr. Coe has finished the grades for psychology. I made an A on the exam and my final grade is 90- A :) !!!!
I have not received my grades yet for biology, but will post them as soon as I get them. Jesse had another game today, although his ankle is still bothering him. We have to go back in the morning for another x-ray and check up. Buford lost 3-0. But Jesse played hard and give it all he could. Dylan missed the game because he was sleeping :( Speaking of my Dylan Bouchee...Tomorrow is my baby's birthday!!! He will be 11 yrs old, boy does time fly by!! :)

Waiting on the thunderstorm to blow over!

Remember the old saying...When it rains, it pours? Well I am waiting on my thhunderstorm to blow over. I thought we were about finished with the unfortunate events, but boy was I wrong. I will NOT say "what can go wrong next" - because something else will! I fell back asleep this morning after Jerry left for work, but I did set the alarm for 5:45am. At 6:40, Jesse is waking me up, the alarm still blaring. So we run around trying to get ready so that Dylan will not be late for school again. We get out the door at 7:15, giving us 15 minutes to get there...plenty of time or so I thought. Arrive at Buford crossroads and I believe everyone was running late. So we get Dylan to school at 7:32, but luckily he was able to go on in without a tardy (probably because there were so many kids arriving at the same time). I drop Jesse off and think I am going home to turn my English paper in online and get some study time in. Almost home and some person without a brain has thrown a glass bottle out of their car and it is scattered all over the road. I do my best to miss it, but I guess I did not. 1/2 mile from the house and I have a major flat. Walk to the house, get Chris out of bed, and we go to change the tire. Well the jack did not want to work, but after 45minutes, we get the spare on (which is fully inflated at this time I want to add) Going up the diveway, I have ANOTHER, yes I said another flat!!! During this headache, I remember that my english paper was due...of course it's 45 minutes late now, so I rush and get that sent in with a note explaining (I have never been late on an assignment, so hopefully she will be understanding). Sean out of the kindness of his heart takes me to Monroe to get my tire fixed - I have lifetime replacement on my tires so I was hoping there were no catches. Discount Tire is the Best!!! Since it was cut on the side of the tire, they replaced it with a brand new tire - not a penny out of pocket! :) I was a very satisfied customer. I get home as it's time for Dylan, and the clouds are black and menacing. We get inside as the bottom of the skies open. It clears up as we are waiting on Jesse to get home. Thankfully he gets in the door as another storm cell passes over, just this time we have hail about quarter sized...of course my poor car takes another beating for the day. Jesse and Dylan are just shaking their heads as I tell them of my day and they watch as the series of unfortunate events follow me around today. Only a couple more hours until bed and this day will be over. Don't ya know it's the full moon..lol! Love Ya'll ;)

*Manic Monday*

Hi Everyone! Today was just another manic monday...the boys back to school & soccer, Jerry off to work and me - I spent the day rearranging my bedroom again , doing laundry, writing my last eng 101 paper and studying! Thursday is biology and psychology finals!! I still feel good about it, but I am getting anxious...just for info - i can fail both finals and still pass, but I like my high GPA!! I apologize to Dad & Brandy for not being reachable - didn't mean to worry ya'll. Love ya'll lots and getting excited about the upcoming race we are going to...we get to watch Jimmie take the checkered flag :) (had to throw that one in). Going to proofread my paper and spend a few minutes with my hubby before going to bed. Good night, Love ya'll!!

Silly Sunday :)

Okay..I'm sure we could have found a MUCH better way to spend a beautiful Sunday, but being a homeowner sometimes has it's downsides. To keep the page smelling pretty, we had a clog in a line and had to keep our noses plugged...even though the day stunk (literally), we enjoyed our time together laughing and playing around. It will probably take a couple of days before my stomach quits hurting from all the laughter! Let's just hope the neighbors don't start a petition about our smell today... lol :) During that crisis, we had a few more- water heater pipe busted..a trip to home depot...toilet flap broke when I tried to get it to stop leaking -another trip to home depot...finally Jerry tells me to go sit down because he is tired of fixing the things I mess with. Now why didn't he tell me that this morning?? Haha! :) I have a GREAT hubby - he was wondeful today!

Okay, it's time to brag on me! Today I finished up my classes. I only go back for my final exams. I made a 93.65 (its an A)on my biology-anatomy lab final, biology-physiology and psychology finals are on April 29, ethics on May 3, and English on May 4 and this semester will be finished! I have to say that I am very proud of myself and feel comfortable with the upcoming finals. As Dylan would say "YAY ME!!" :)

Jesse had soccer tournaments on friday and saturday, Buford did well. 2 wins and 2 losses. What a handsome young man.
